Albino Merganser ??? Is it possible?

I got these shots today in Southeast Michigan over Lake Erie.
Is it possible this is an all white "Common Merganser"? I've never heard of one or seen one before. It was flying with the other Mergansers. Don't mind the quality of the pictures ,these are huge crops.

An albino female. That is insane!

Well in 40 years of watching ducks this is the first I've seen or even heard about.I guess I was in the right place at the right time. Thanks for the help guys.

Hahaha As a matter of fact ,it was headed that way.

I've been trying to contact some of the local Audubon clubs to find out how rare this is. I haven't heard anything from them yet ,but I will keep you posted when I do.

Actually no.

It's leucistic, not albino: an albino bird would have no pigmentation at all - no red legs and beak.

Yup, Leukistic. Lack of pigment in the feathers, although I have never seen one completely white before. It can happen in all animals though, not just birds.
