I don't hear much talk about the tablets any more. I used to have one for my pc, but when I bought my mac I sold it, it wasn't working with lightroom2.
I am going nuts trying to use the mouse for editing. What are people using these days. Any tips or recommendations on editing tools instead of mouse would be great. Thanks

Brittany,

I just bought a Wacom Intuos 4 Medium after being without my Intuos 2 for almost a year. It's great to have a tablet again and the I4 is awesome. I'm using it with Aperture and Photoshop. And I'm finding myself using it more than my mouse for everything else after just a few days of having it on my desk. It's very customizable and that makes it even more intuitive to use in my opinion.

I had the Intuous 2 also, but it didn't work well with my lightroom 2. I am looking at the Intous 4 Medium also.

I just got an Intuos3 on sale at Costco. The 'small' version. It's plenty big. I even shrunk the active area down so I don't have to reach across the pad to go to the other side of the screen. Great, Great item.

I have the Cintiq 12W and it makes working images a treat. While it is pricey, it is worth every penny to me.

My life is like one big RAW file....way too much post processing needed.

I am a very avid user of a Wacom Intuos 3 with LR2.6. I am running a dual screen workstation, but only have the tablet mapped for the LH screen (develop module screen) as I only use the RH screen for reviewing the image in the Loupe mode.

6*4? It's $100 on Amazon...always wanted to try a tablet for editing. What size monitor are you using it with?

I'm using it with a 22" 16:10 ratio monitor.
I got it from THIS thread about a month ago. It's great, although now that I have it, I still use my Bamboo most of the time. I only use the I3 for PS type editing when it matters.

edit: The actual full active surface of the I3 I have is 4.6" x 6.5".

I have one of the smaller ones and absolutely love it. I just can't work on it to long or I cramp up!

How come?

I have a Wacom Intuos 3 A5 wide.
I mostly use a mouse in LR, since my Mac is too slow to move sliders around, and I prefer to hover over a slider and use the up/down arrows. I use the Wacom for brushing and such though. And for anything I do in PS.

I have the Untuos 4 small. HAD the Intuos 3 medium which I liked MUCH better - I can't get the pen on this Intuos 4 to give me a brush stroke that isn't too strong in the center despite how I've fiddled with the adjustments - I can't get it to to "diffuse" the stroke as i can when I just use the mouse - sort of defeats the purpose for me.
Also, the pad on the Intuos 4 is "stickier" or more rubbery than the Intuos 3 and the pen doesn't glide as smoothly.

Mwaaaaah... :(

I use the Intuos4 Large with my 24" iMac and I haven't had any problems using it in Lightroom 2.
