First and Second attempt at Star Trails

Here are my first 2 attempts star trails. What's good and what can I work on to make everything better. They are single images, not stacked.

Very nice, I especially like the 2nd shot, great sky color and you get very good detail on the ground too

I prefer the second shot. Nicely done and also nice to see some newer attempts!

Not much, that second shot's superb. I don't think stars have to be that in focus to look good in such a shot, and because you've got such a nicely lit fireground you want that to be in focus instead really, which you've done.

Very nice. I cannot wait to try this once I purchase a remote and tripod. Perhaps once it gets a little warmer too. -20 deg C isn't exactly "comforting" weather.

Props to your photos though. I really enjoy them.
