My wife breeds mice and I often thought some of the prettier youngsters would make great studio-type subjects, so I finally got around to setting up the lights and giving it a try. I used a 580EX with a home-made 8"x12" softbox just to the right of the camera, and a bare flash from behind and to the left, to give a "hair light". I was pleased with the results. I never got a rex coat, but I got silkies, long hairs, and Siamese, although for some reason, I could not keep my Siamese types alive for longer than a few weeks. Mice are fun, but I LOVE rats and hope my son shows interest in them at some point so I can have an excuse to get another! I love the detail you were able to get on the black one's fur. Very nicely exposed! Elizabeth
