The only two pics rescued from a day where the birds were scarce and those who dared show up were mostly un-cooperative, making a point of landing on the wrong spots and not wanting to sit still more than two seconds - not long enough for the desperate photog fiddling with his zoom :-)

XSi + Bigmos @ 500mm, Aperture priority, 1/60, f/8, 1600 ISO, 580EX II @ -2/3 FEC, pattern metering.
It was starting to be late already, light diminishing badly.

The male was shot later with less light, in Manual mode with 1/100 @ f/9, other parameters identical save for a second slave flash on the right with a 1/4 CTO gel.
