I think it's good. Lighting works, pose seems natural enough, skin doesn't look overprocessed. Not 100% sure if I like the bars in the background. WB looks warm to me, maybe just personal preference. Model seems to be leaning her head forward a bit, which gives you a good angle on the face, but a bit unflattering on the chin.

Here's a quick change of WB and a bit more contrast, I am not sure if it looks better this way. See what everyone else thinks, since I am still a noob and can't even dream of producing anything this good.

Thanks for the comments and for taking the time to play around with the WB.

Very nice. The hair separation is what makes it look good. The WB is much less important.

P.S. I like the first, but that's just me.

Haha, I just looked back at it and I think I like the original more as well. Warmer colour seems to work better =D

#1: skin looks very processed to me, eyes a bit milky. It's quite a tall image, combined with a downward angle on the subject and the converging lines in the background, it looks a bit "cramped" to me somehow.

I prefer the edit above... more punchy, less "honey-coated" in colours.

Thanks for the comments guys. And yes Tony, looking back at it, I think I over did it on the skin softening, and that was part of why I wanted to post it up this way. She liked it, and so did her mother....and it seems the trend now is to do quite a lot of skin smoothing. I printed some out from this shoot, and the above amount of skin smoothing is definitely too much at print ( IMO )....but again, she liked it. I did see that the smoothing effect was greater on the print than it appears on the monitor, so I learned I have to back it off some more on a file going to print. It's all so subjective.

Like everything except for the pose. Personally I would have liked to have her body and head turned more towards the lens.

Really nice shot, like the lighting the pose and the warm tone not thrilled with the skin processing it is just lacking texture not sure if you used a blurring layer or it's just the web compression the only other thing is I don't like that the catchlight fills the entire pupil but I'm just nick picking
