Ok, after posting the color version of this shot and reading other's comments, I wanted to post it in black and white.

Which one do you like better?

I see that a few of you have voted already, any reasons why you chose the option you did?

For me a black and white sunset is kind of pointless. Although its not the most vibrant of sunsets the color still adds something. In the black and white you know its missing and you dont know what it is.

I understand your point about the sunset being with out the color. However, there is very little color to the photo itself which is why I'm questioning the color vs. bw. Tough decisions....

The color - hands down. The sunset is great due to the differences in color, not tonality. The B&W is a nice effort, but the sunset is missing the variation in tonality that a good B&W brings to the table.

I like the little tint of color myself, looks more natural to me, unless I have eyes like a dog and then B&W would be the only thing I could see. Well done by the way.

Color - it gives more depth to the sky and makes the boat easier to stand out from the water.

Did you do an automatic conversion to grayscale or custom ?

maybe if it was a better BW conversion but as it stands the boat just blends into the water...
