The guy took it and used it in his auction for the same item. I told him to remove it and he said "What's the big deal?" /?? Big deal? You have a picture of MY item, in MY kitchen and it is competing with MY auction!!! People are dumb. Dave

A good Photoshopper can take out any watermark anyplace on the photo if they want to steal the picture badly enough. Those that complain about watermarks on images are usually the ones who like to use images they "find" on the internet. If someone really wants your image, sure they can spend a few hours with photoshop at 600% magnification to eliminate the watermark; but if they are into stealing, they'd be inclined to just take a different image that doesn't require hours of photo editing.

It deters those looking for the quick and easy!Actually, I've seen a couple of Photoshop actions that you can download free that remove watermarks in seconds. Walt

But when someone buys a photo from you do you remove the watermark? Can I buy the digital image or do you only sell prints? I don't know about others, but I have two files. One hi-rez and no watermark or copyright at all for selling, and one low(er)-rez with a watermark for internet display purposes. Website: Iowa Landscape Photography

If so, forget the image pirate, if I pay good money for a photo I sure don't want that watermark in the middle of it. Of course there's no watermark on the print. Watermarks are for image protection through email and websites. And no I don't sell digital files unless the price is considerable.
