Hey all,

I'm the photographer for a non-profit group that puts on electronic music concerts to raise money for various causes. After taking pictures at a couple of events, I got some other gigs with another promo company and decided to consolidate everything into a new website and keep my other portfolio stuff separate.

The main purpose of the site is to concentrate on local music and to document the events that I've covered. I'll also be tossing in some recommendations on bands/DJs to see and how-to info for getting neat pics of people at parties/concerts. The secondary purpose is to just have fun with it, so there are some silly things on there.

The site is incredibly colorful and in-your-face. It fits the demographic of the "scene" perfectly, in my opinion.

Take a look and let me know what you think. I'm curious to know if anyone on a Mac has issues with the site, as I haven't been able to test that yet.

Looks good and colorful.
My only remarks are that some thumbnails (particularly the ones on the Home page) take the viewer to Flickr. You don't want the viewer to leave your site. Also, the thumbnail size on your events pages little small IMO and hard to see what the content is without opening up the larger size.

Ah, good call on the flickr images taking the user off the site. Didn't notice that. It's a plug-in, hopefully I can edit it without breaking it.

Do you think it would be more user-friendly to cut down the number of images for each event and up-size the thumbnails? I'm a little torn b/c I want people to be able to come to the site and see pics of themselves at the events, and if I cut out images, they may be disappointed.

Maybe have an initial event page with less pics and bigger thumbs, then have a link to the entire set of pics?

Thanks for your input!

OK, I fixed the flickr link so that it pops up in a new window and doesn't take the user away from my site.

If you look at this event posting (external link), I cut down the number of images to 20, and then linked to the full set on a different page. This should decrease load times and also allow me to showcase my 20 favorite shots instead of have people wade through them all (unless the want to, of course).

I also added a little music player along the bottom of the page to feature some music (this website is both photo and music, so I feel it's justified).

Any other input would be greatly appreciated.
