So I did it! I reversed my kit lens 18-55mm AND my nifty fifty to get these two shots in full sunlight. This is absolutely AWESOME FUN to do! Totally handheld, from both lenses to the body as well! Where can I find the cheap reverse rings to attach the lenses to my 40D? Guess I'm more asking, who would you suggest?

Nice one. You can get pretty high mag with the reversed 18-55, right? Close to 3:1?

I have absolutely NO idea! :D And with both of them reversed, who knows? I really wish I had your MP-E65 lens, but money unfortunately does not grow on trees.

Good ones. I suspect you don't really need to do the 50mm reversed as well. The 18-55 will do upto 3:1 by itself when reversed on the body depending on the zoom setting (around 28mm is the minimum)
You need a canon body reversing ring with a 58mm thread - easiest found on EBAY - eg http://cgi.ebay.com.my …-Adapter-NEW/350268315905 (external link).

Ahhh, but Brian, you'd be surprised at how much closer you can get with both. These were the same subjects using the maximum closeness level with the reversed kit lens. I must say I tend to push it to the limits. :P

I don't think these are even close to 1:1....you probably didn't fully zoom out the reversed 18-55.
