The last time I took the ferry there were a few Pelicans that were hanging around and of course I didn't have my camera...so today I decided to take a ride on the ferry in hopes of seeing the Pelicans again...well no such luck in seeing any Pelicans but I did get these shots of an immature Double-crested Cormorant

Terrific pictures. You don't have much time to shoot these guys as they grow up so fast.

Well captured We have 1000s of these guys in Summer. I never saw one this small I just know the first year birds are the white neck/breast streaking over Erie.We love em. Fishermen here despise them blaming them for prize fish killing truth is they eat mostly junk fish.

thank you...with regards to size this cormorant looked the same as all the others that were around (there were tons of them)...I think the angle that I took the picture at might be contributing to him looking smaller...that piling is probably 12 or more inches wide
