I shoot weddings and other party events with my dad and i want to go from film to digital cameras. We always take pictures with a flash even at church. 95% of the time we take still photos and from a close range. We will still be using our cameras that use film and I will practice with the digital camera. As time goes buy i will be buying more gear but for now that's all i can get. Thanks in advance.

Best walkaround lens on a crop camera, particularly for weddings and parties in darker places. I would probably go with the 17-55 for a crop, or two primes, sigma 50 f/1.4 and a 85 f/1.8, or sigma 50 1.4 and sigma 30 f/1.4. Flickr
