No real secrets. Here's the original shot exported from Lightroom

THIS IS A LOW QUALITY PREVIEW. Please log in to see the good quality stuff.

As you can see, a lot of the engine was blown out, so I had to do a composite with those areas really underexposed. After merging those two exposures in Photoshop, I added a B&W layer, added some punch with a gradient map for the darks and a curves adjustment for the midtones, did some dodging and burning, sharpened the engine with a high pass layer and added vignette to taste.

Easy peasy, lol.
