I would like an honest critique of my work. I'm trying to understand if it's my equipment that needs updating or my work itself. Please look and give me an overall feeling you have.

Well, what is your equipment? A skilled photographer can get a better shot out of a cell phone camera than a total neophyte with a $5000 1D whatever.

I glanced over your web page. I admit that I didn't make a detailed evaluation of any one image. Your camera seems adequate. However, it looks to me like many of your shots could be improved with photographic technique. Pay attention in particular to: depth of field, exposure (over-exposed and blown out highlights in some shots), and white balance. And tilted shots. I have an unnatural and extreme bias against tilted shots. Some would disagree.

If you post one shot, I think it would be more to your advantage. I seldom look at web sites and usually move on when I see multiple shots in a post. There is simply not enough time to do them justice. On the other hand, you can ask people how to improve a single shot and they will give you detailed advice that you can apply to your technique.

One thing I find distracting about the albums is that pictures taken, apparently, at the same time and place of the same subject, look so different (for example, the first pictures of the boy with the red piano). Either would be fine, but adjacent to each other,in an album, I would expect them to look similar.

I notice that you are shooting AV priority and that the shutter speed changed from 1/200 to 1/320 for those two shots. This may be one of the reasons why so many on this board suggest shooting in manual mode. I don't know if the speed difference is responsible for the different look of those photos or if it is something else (e.g., post processing), but if they were processed the same, I would try to make them look the same if they will be displayed adjacent to each other.
