Hi,

Wondering if there is any diff between Scan disc and kingston SD cards. Where I live the kingston is cheaper.

Also do I need the new faster speed? I cant really think why I need it as the old one seems rather instantaneous to me!

Cheers,

Simon

If your old one is up to the job, just keep it and save the money for something else. If I personally had to choose.....I'd buy a SanDisk Ultra II everytime for my DRebel XT (350D).

I just bought 4 Kingston elite photo cards from Dell. Got in on the rebate and coupon deal. Prices were low enough that I bought 2 - 4GB cards for my 20D, and 2- 1GB cards for my 8700. The 4GB cards run at 45X while their 1GB cards run at 50x. So they are basically middle of the road cards. The price was definately a good deal.

I use both brands (standard typ 512MB and 1GB CF-cards).

It depends... If your camera supports the faster CF-cards then you might want to go for the faster cards.

In my case my 10D does not support the high(er) speed cards. Therefore i stick to the standard typ. Honestly, for my kind of shooting i don´t need any faster cards. And when downloading the RAW files from my card reader to my computer, i don´t care if it takes a few seconds longer until the files have been transfered.

So it´s all up to you to decide which cards you want to use. Good luck with your decision.

Kingston Elite Pro is good enough for me. I have a 2Gb Elite Pro (speed=50X).

I think everybody fail to read the post.

The question is on SD not CF.

It depends on your camera.

If you have a Typical P&S then no it doesn't matter.

If it is one of the One series DSLR then yes the faster SD will definitely make a difference.

I know people have gotten sidetracked to CF cards, but sandisk make Ultra II cards in the SD flavour too.

I have used the Sandisk Ultra II SD Cards on various devices and can definetly vouch for them.

Khiem.

I believe the post was edited. As it was CF when I replied. I could be mistaken though. 23 hours constitutes long term memory. :D

I also read it as CF card, however there is no indication that the original post was edited, therefore I must have been wr-wr-wrong:oops: .
It is probably because all the SLRs use CF cards although not all exclusively. I guess that this reminds me to read posts more critically.

Actually you can make small edits without it saying the post was edited.

I added this line.
