Until something comes along to change my opinion I am not messing with the camera's MA. Bohdan - I may be, and probably am, completely wrong.

The 18-50 was a great lens (one I loved to no end ... until I got my 17-55 IS), and focused perfectly; in fact, I never could have imagined Sigma with quality issues when I started with this lens - until I came onto POTN and started seeing this stuff.

The replacement is better it only needs +8 at 4', +5 at 6', +3 at 8' and 0 at 10 and 12' have not tested past 12'. Its going back for calibration soon. EOS R
