ACR/Lightroom RAW support for T2i?

It just occurred to me that the newest versions of Lightroom & ACR don't support the T2i. Can any of you that have your camera already see if the 7D support introduced in ACR 5.6 is close enough? My camera is supposed to ship today and be delivered tomorrow and I'm curious if I'll actually be able to process the pics I take over the weekend.

I'm pretty sure you can convert them to DGN format when importing to LR and you will be able to work with them. Otherwise, if the current version does not support the T2i, you will have to wait for the next update of ACR or use the DDP software that comes with the camera.

Yeah, that's what I was worried about... Anyone know how long Adobe typically takes to kick out an update?

Both PS and Lightroom are due for upgrades RSN. It wouldn't suprise me if the only versions that supported the T2i were PS5 and LR3. Which would mean either paying for an upgrade, using DPP or converting to DNG.

Looks like I won't find out until Monday. My (Next Day Air) package has been delayed for "Adverse Weather Conditions".

It shouldn't be too long before there are udates to ACR and Lightroom. In the meantime, install DPP!

It takes time for ACR, Lightroom, etc because they can't get working on reverse-engineering the Raw until the camera is released (they don't get pre-released copies of the camera).

oh wow, that's pretty lame. I guess you're stuck with DPP for now, or JPG. I don't like either of those options :(

DPP made a big leap with the version released with the T2i -- arbitrary rotation. It really is capable as an "entry way" Raw processor -- not all the features of Lightroom or Bridge/ACR, but certainly good for initially getting the T2i up and running.

For right now it looks like you're limited to DPP for raw conversions. It will take time for Adobe to update camera raw and the dng converter.

Arghh. Here I was snapping away in raw mode and when I'm ready to see them on the computer, I realize Lightroom does not support T2i raws yet :(

Bah, I really want to avoid installing DPP ...

That's why I've been shooting JPG+RAW.

Hmm, perhaps I'll do just that for now. Though I always end up doing processing anyway that the JPGs don't really help. Oh well...

PS: I recognized your blog! Used to update from your yum repo (good job, btw). I've moved to Ubuntu since though :)
