I hate to make another thread about this remote but I have simple question I didn't see answered in any of the other threads I searched. Does this remote work with the 7D? I will be picking one up sometime soon and I didn't think to check and see if the remote would work with it before I ordered one.

Sure will! It will work with any Canon camera body that has the N3 remote connector.

Hi

As per the official canon site (http://shop.usa.canon.com …uct_10051_10051_171331_-1 (external link) ) it is mentioned that it works with the following.

-- EOS 7D (Body)
-- EOS 7D with EF 28-135IS
-- EOS 7D with EF-S 18-135IS

Won't this work with any other Lenses used with 7D except the ones mentioned above....?

Thanks.

They're just listing the pre-packaged kits Canon has for the 7D. Which lens is immaterial.

Yea, makes no difference which lens you have on the body, as long as the body has and N3 remote shutter release connection itll work just fine.

Ben_r & Jon are totally correct - you may now breathe a deep sigh of relief! :)

The TC-80n has a N3 interface connector and is designed to be used with cameras that have this socket. Both my 5D and 40D have this. This cable-release is a 'universal' accessory for the 'current' range of Canon DSLR's which includes your 7D with any lens you may choose to attach.

BTW: The electrical current drives the shutter mechanism, so the attached lens is an irrelevance!
