I would never pass up a chance to interact with a venomous snake. With the proper equipment they can be handled safely.

That is exactly how most people get bite!:rolleyes:
These are wild animals, and there is no reason to handle one unless it's necessary!!!
The less they interact with humans, the better for the snake and people.

A girl lost her finger and partial use of her hand not too long ago around here to a juvenile copperhead under a foot in length.
Antivenom doesn't always work, but the venom does!


You got to know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em
Know when to walk away and know when to run
You never count your money when you're sittin' at the table
There'll be time enough for countin' when the dealing's done

As I said before there is no reason to handle one of these snakes in the wild.
Young snakes can easily be permanently crippled as their jaws are fragile, causing in their eventual death by starvation.


Photographing them is ok, as long as the snake can retreat.
