someone make me feel better about this purchase! Tell me I did the right thing...

I got mine in December 2008 when they first hit the streets. You will love this camera. The image quality is outstanding. The HD movies are stunning.

Thanks,

I'm moving from the 450D. I told myself I'd skip the xxD bodies when I upgraded.:D

I'm in the same boat looking to upgrade. Nowadays it seems like the xxD bodies don't offer too much for the price especially with the T2i's specs.

I definitely agree. I hope I like the 5DMKII...have to sell my beloved 17-55mm also :(

congrats, I only got my 5D Mark ii on tuesday after upgrading from a 450d as well! The camera's absolutely amazing, such a leap up from the 450d.

I'm also in exactly the same boat in having to sell my 17-55 as well! Mate, we're on the same journey!

What walkabout lens are you planning to get? I think I'll be buying a 24-70 next week as I've only got a 50 1.8 and a 70-200 f4 IS for it at the moment.

Nice! I'm definitely leaning towards the 24-70, as well. I only have the 70-200 2.8 IS besides the 17-55..lol.

I'm really excited about this camera!

I can tell you right now that you're not going to regret the purchase one bit. Everything about the 5dii is an improvement over the 450d. I love the 450d but it's a bit of a toy in comparison (albeit one that's capable of some amazing shots!).

congrats on the purchase. I find myself in the same boat...wanting to upgrade from a 450d w/ 17-55, and going full frame. But I don't think i can justify the extra cash for this lastest "hobby" i just got into. Now if only the 60d would come out. :D

You've already taken beautiful shots with your 450D, the 5DII will take you to another level.

I don't mind, as long as I'm not in the same room with them and somebody remembers to leave the fan on.
