Good afternoon PW'ers. I wanted to pass along a link to Robert Benson's blog, which today has a short, slow-motion video of a Canon mirror/shutter assembly in operation.

I was little surprised at the 'violence' of the components - notice how the shutter blades shiver when they close, and how the mirror assembly bounces when it comes back down.

Great link.

I've long known how the system worked, but I never realized that the mirror bounced around that much at the ends of its travel.

Great link - thanks for sharing!

It really demonstrates why MLU can make a difference.

Great link, I figured it would be a lot smoother than that.

that's crazy... I can feel the mirror goes up and down and causes a lot more vibration on my XSi than my 7D. and I can see why now...

not to compare 5d to a XSi but I am just saying ;)
