had a chance to head out to see Warwick Castle and there were a couple chances to take some great pics for HDR. both of these were shot handheld on the 17-40 f/4.

1 - stairway to....

#1 is a cool shot,
I like #2 but it seems like the brightness stops after you get past the greens. You may be able to tweak it a little and have the castle as sky come out a little better.

Well, then you're off to a great start. I'm new to HDR as well but the few pics I made aren't near as good as yours.

I used to live by there! I lived in Leamington Spa (check out Kennelworth Castle if you're still in the area - much more ruinous than Warwick) Long since moved away though!

Love the last photo - thanks for bringing back some great memories! I need to take my 10 month old there one day ...

It's basically just a ruin of a castle, but last time I was there you could climb out into the remaining buildings - I wish I was into photography when I was last in that area, it's pretty cool.

I always used to call Warwick Castle "The Disneyland of Castles", because it was almost trying too hard compared to the rest :)

#3 is my favourite, #2 is not visible so don't know if you are working on it. Like your use of HDR as it is not over done
