I spent a couple of days in Klamath Falls at the NWRs to photograph Bald Eagles. Here are just two of the many pictures I took - had a really good time, highly recommended for eagle watching. These pictures are not cropped.

Feb 26, 2010 22:08 | #9 Thanks everybody. The lens used was the 500L with the 1.4 extender, camera was the 7D. The best time for Klamath Falls is February. Klamath Falls has the highest concentration of bald eagles during that month before they head north again. In some years they have as many as 1,000 wintering eagles there - though this year they "only" had around 100.

Feb 26, 2010 22:13 | #10 Here are two more shots. We found this pair of nesting eagles and they were actually working on improving their nest for the upcoming nesting season. I could have stayed with them all day long - it was just fascinating to watch them.
