I spent a couple of days in Klamath Falls at the NWRs to photograph Bald Eagles. Here are just two of the many pictures I took - had a really good time, highly recommended for eagle watching. These pictures are not cropped.

Well done. It's always an exciting time when these guys are around and you have an opportunity to catch them.

Very nice shooting, that first shot is over the top... love the softness of the clouds really adds to an already fantastic shot...

Thanks everybody. The lens used was the 500L with the 1.4 extender, camera was the 7D. The best time for Klamath Falls is February. Klamath Falls has the highest concentration of bald eagles during that month before they head north again. In some years they have as many as 1,000 wintering eagles there - though this year they "only" had around 100.

Here are two more shots. We found this pair of nesting eagles and they were actually working on improving their nest for the upcoming nesting season. I could have stayed with them all day long - it was just fascinating to watch them.

Beautiful shots, I'm lucky that I live about 20 minutes away from the Refuge and I never get tired of shooting Bald Eagles
