Going to be around Ocho Rios Jamaica and Labadee Haiti in a couple of weeks on a cruise. Any good photo ops in the area, landscapes, wildlife, birds, historical etc that anyone knows of.

Also, any tips on flying with your camera? Do you carry yours on or ship it in your luggage.

Think I'm going to take a tokina 10-17, canon 70-200 and either a canon 35mm or the canon 60mm macro. I think dragging along the 300 and 400 DO would be to cumbersome since this is not really a photo type trip.

Thanks!

Mike

never carry your camera equipment in your checked luggage unless you do not want it any more.

there are lots of great photo ops around ocho rios. the small shops and people are all interesting. the falls there is great, you can walk up the falls but may need protection for camera.

also be careful... people were robbed on the golf course in broad daylight, took money and clubs, etc. it is a fairly safe place but always be on the lookout.

would love to be going back to jamaica it is a great place to visit. have a great time. PS- i will volunteer to carry your luggage.....:D

I was in Ocho Rios 2 months ago... Keep your stuff in a backpack until you get outside of the immidiate cruise ship area.. Roughly a mile out. You'll know why when you get there.
