Well, got my 5dmkii in yesterday and shot some video. Went in to check to see if I could edit it last night, and it threw a "File damaged or unsupported" error. Thought it might be that I'm missing QT or something like that. Go to change some programs around, and then Premiere Pro throws a "format unsupported error". .mov, .m4v .mp4, all throw the same error. So I checked an old project I did two weeks ago that used some transcoded 5d mkii files. Get a "Media Offline" error.

But doesn't stop there.

After that, I lost XDCAM support. Then HDV and AVCHD disappeared from the program altogether. Eventually, I had two formats left, p2 and avchd-intra, even DV was gone from sequences list.

tried installing over the old install, that didn't work, and now i'm going to uninstall then re-install.

Anyone ever see this odd cascading failure? If you have, know how to fix it?

I have a photo shoot in two hours and don't really have the time to solve this on my own. :(

EDIT: It has to do with PCM audio, somehow all PCM audio doesn't play on premiere pro

I don't hate macs or OSX, I hate people and statements that portray them as better than anything else. Macs are A solution, not THE solution. Get a good desktop i7 with Windows 7 and come tell me that sucks for photo or video editing.

Never had a problem like that with Premere Pro...but then again I'm on OS X. :p

Yep, OS X sounds like the solution to your issues.

Actually it's Apple's fault this all happened in the first place
Installed QT yesterday, and turns out the install got corrupted somehow. Reinstalled QT four times and then it finally worked. I never had any issues with that before, and PP works much faster on windows ;)
