I have been looking at the op/tech harness and black rapid bandolier straps and am looking for experiences from users. When shooting weddings I have the 5d+24-70 on one shoulder and 7d+70-200 on the other. The 7d is constantly slipping off my shoulder, particularly when wearing a jacket. It drives me nuts, and I need to correct it somehow.

To me the op/tech makes the most sense since I already use op/tech straps on the camera, and it seems like it will hold the camera steadier than the single point connection of the bandoliers. It doesn't hurt that it is a lot cheaper, too. However, I am concerned that it will be more difficult to shoot vertical with what looks like really short leads.

Any realworld experiences would be helpful

This is what I am talking about:

I have the POTN OP Tech strap (external link) on every camera and lens that I have. They are a great strap and they certainly minimize the shoulder slipping issue you describe. I've been to the Op Tech facility in Montana and they really put alot of quality control and testing into their products. I also put the E-1 hand strap on all of my 1 series bodies. This makes it easier for one body in the hand and the other on my shoulder.

The other strap that I have heard alot of good things about is the The Up Strap (external link) though I do not have any first hand experience using them.

My life is like one big RAW file....way too much post processing needed.

Yes, I have that strap on my cameras now, but I find that when wearing a suit jacket it tends to slip off. Hmm, I guess no one has experience with harness

I don't have any experience with the Op/Tech harness because I use two Black Rapid straps I modified into a dual harness using THIS (external link) method. I find this works very well for me.

After looking at the video on the Op/Tech website I think their harness might be a good solution for you because you already have Op/Tech straps on your camera. If you were to go to the Black Rapid dual harness, you'd have to remove the straps from your camera every time you used the Black Rapid.

thanks for the suggestion - I was thinking the same thing about the optechs. I think I'll just give it a try and return it if it isn't any good
