strange problem with ixus 40 (sd300)

hey

my ixus was working fine since it was bought 6 months ago, and suddenly something happened with the picture quality.. pictures have this unwanted "tv lines" effect, and during the day, it's almost impossible to shoot a good picture - all are overexposed.

the camera wasn't dropped or anything.. it just happened...

of course i have warranty and i hope to get it replaced with a new one but did anyone had this here ?

I had something similar with the lines on my Ixus 500 when I was shooting in really strong sunlight, and the temperature was over 30 degrees C. I'll check the parameters for the affected shots and see if there is anything linking them.
