anyone up to anything exciting?
Stripping down my file server and resetting it up with Xubuntu 9.10. It's been running Ubuntu 8.10 since release so I think it's time to freshen up a bit and install something that should be a touch less power hungry.

Mostly taller. People moan about 4x4s but they are the same size as people carrier give a few inches, and then people carriers tend to be smaller or similar to family cars. My Accord is longer than a Peugeot 807 for example. Anywho my point is more that these people can afford a Range Rover so if they didn't have that would likely have a larger Merc/BMW anyway, the 7 series is longer, the Merc E and S classes are both larger, etc. Anyway my small rant there over, the blind bint should have seen you given the improved visibility of the Range Rover over a normal car. I wrote a bike off when a woman overtook me in an Orion as a teenager and she subsequently slammed on her anchors for some traffic lights. I yanked the breaks which tore off of their mounts (so I had no chance of stopping) before going into her boot head first. Good thing it was an Orion, were it an Escort I'd have been through the rear window. Anywho, the front forks were bent backwards, the frame was 4 inches shorter on the crossbar, the front wheel was bent, then brakes as mentioned were torn from their mounts and the only thing that survived unscathed were the pedals and gears lol. Bloody women drivers. Sounds like you were very lucky! I was cleaned out pre xmas by some old guy who didn't see me, over the bonnet, up the windscreen and somehow managed to land on my feet but then took a bit of a tumble. I'm constintly on the look out for these sutuations where people don't see me which is usually every day. London Wedding Photographer

You can't see the option? If so, restart the install process and select "Custom" as your install option and not "Upgrade". BTW - morning all Works been hell for the last week or so hence not being on much.I did that several times last night, a friend loaded his to the stage I was at and sent me a pic with the options there, mine didn't have them.. Back bumper came off, the boot lid was caved in, rear quarters buckled. I was doing like ~25 MPH on an old style steel framed mountain bike, once you got one of those up to speed there was a lot of momentum there. Hell the guy at the cycle place who looked over the bike afterward said that for the damage to the brakes I'd needed to have pulled them on at over 30, but I can't see how I'd have gotten one of those bikes past that speed on the flat. 5D | 40D | Σ24 f1.8 | 50 f1.8 II | 85 f1.8 | 70-200 F4L | 540EZ x2 | Nissin Di622

Aside from the Castle (and grounds), and Cathedral, there’s a lot of old buildings for architectural type photography and a general olde worlde feeling about the place. You’d struggle not to find something to get photos of ![]() The dockyard is also good. I see mention of the HMS Ocelot. Next to that you also have the HMS Cavalier (C Class Destroyer) and the HMS Gannet (1878 Osprey Class Sloop). If you have 10 mins spare today you can clearly see them on Google Earth. For liquid refreshment, a little down the road from the dockyards, towards the cinema and dockside outlet centre, the main road (Maritime Way) leads to St Marys Island (housing project). To the left before you cross the bridge to St Marys is a bar called the Ship and Trade (if I recall correctly, been a few years since I was there last, my friends and i used to frequent it on a Saturday evening in the summer as there’s ample outside seating). Also it might be worth noting that the Docks is right next to Brompton which is a medway military town. There’s a Royal Engineers Museum there with various tanks outside. From memory there’s an old Churchil and a bridge layer outside, I’ve not actually been inside since I was knee high to a short thing. Shame I won't be around for this trip (off to Newcastle). Was there for a conference recently so didn't see too much other than the convention centre (which in itself was a 15th century hospital built by the Knights of St John); my wife on the other had tagged along as a WAG and did a lot more sight seeing. Will post some of her photos in the next few days, along with some of mine. Only photoshopped a few as it took three hours to download, sort and rename the files last night.
