There is a disc of metal that protects the inside of the brakes from stone damage, this keeps bending or buckling and touching the brakes. It makes an horrific noise. I'm having them replaced when my brakes get replaced in a couple of months.
The disc is so thin you can move it with one finger pressure so it's not surprising it moves through potholes, that and sports suspension doesn't help.

Do you see this dialog box?

QUOTED IMAGE

IIRC, the format option is accessed by clicking on Drive Options

Just checked mine, all I get is this:

A few photos from Valletta, Malta. Was there for a conference recently so didn't see too much other than the convention centre (which in itself was a 15th century hospital built by the Knights of St John); my wife on the other had tagged along as a WAG and did a lot more sight seeing. Will post some of her photos in the next few days, along with some of mine. Only photoshopped a few as it took three hours to download, sort and rename the files last night.

Forgive the crappy shot but any ideas on how to try and read this writing on this stone with some sort of PP?

I'm waiting until it dries out so I can take a rubbing and see if that brings out any detail but there must be something I can do PP wise to help.

I think you have to delete both partitions before you get the format option. If you dont want to do that, download UBCD, boot from that and use one of the built in tools to format the partition you want.

Not a clue, if i had PS in front of me i'd prob start by having a look at each channel and using a high pass filter, then cranking the shadows and highlights

My attempts don't seem to reveal enough detail, perhaps there isn't enough in the first place.
