+1 for the card reader - I bought one on your recommendation Sylvester - it is an excellent card reader (and I doubted there was such a thing!)

Great Robion shots Mark - really nice to see some environment - I tend to forget to put my critter photos in situe!

- quick question for you cost savvy types - the going rate on a Canon 100mm f2.8L IS Macro? (the best I've seen is £709)

That's a good price but have a word with Kerso.

I like the concealed slot system (oo-er) seems to keep the dust out and above all it looks cool when it pings open! :D

- I thought so, I've used Simply Electronics once or twice and I have been happy with them, but I am aware it's not UK stock - but I'm not sure that's the end of the world when it'll save me almost £100 - I'll drop Kerso a line...

thanks (again) fella

I know there's been more than enough mentioned about Volcanoes and their aeroplane stopping powers - and hopefully there will be something new in the news this week... BUT I had to share this image from a Flickr friend who lives in Iceland.... (imagine the light painting in front of this!)

I have the Non-USM one and it is a cracker as long as you are not in a focus lock rush. The IS is going to make it more usefull as a portrait lens as well. I even got a bird with it :)

Next is either a 5DMKII or 1DMK4 or both......although I used the MKIIN last night again on the 70-200 and the focus is just great be a shame to see it go if I go the MK4 route.

You'll have to prize my MKIIn from my cold dead body. No way Im selling that. I dont think Im feeling the love for the IV as much as I do for the IIn. Cant believe Ive taken 2K shots already just mucking about! Need to get some "comfy" shots taken soon.

I like it, IS works well, the robin shots were almost 100% crops and I didnt really have to sharpen them its so sharp, I seem to leave it on my camera most of the time, not sure why as I dont really take macro shots just hundreds of pics of my little boy and the odd flower...... if your going on the WHF trip next month you can have a play if you like as I will have it in my bag, I had a Tamron 90mm before this so I cant compare to the old 100mm. I think Ray has had both..

shame I do a lot of gig work and need the higher ISO, just looking through my shots, my MKIII nailed most of them last night, ones I didn't were user trying to be smartarse using to low a shutter speed...took me a few weeks to get used the MKIII but once I'd sussed it game on! Give me your MKIV this weekend and I'll give it a run out at the Emirates on Saturday then Stamford Bridge on Sunday, then I'll tell you if its duff ;)

the 85 1.8 will make you smile

I have that card reader and am happy with it.

Great, thanks. I have heard only good things about the 85 1.8 so I can't wait to try it out on the 5DII.

Great. :)

I have a built in card reader in my PC but the thing is really slow so I need something faster. Would you think the firewire version would be better (I think I have a firewire slot on my PC).

Nice shots. The first 2 are my favourites. Very nicely seen. I think the light and shadows one could work very well as a black and white.

As for the 3rd one, depending on the time at which you took it, I might be just out of frame on it or you might have passed me, as I was having a drink on the terrace of the Italian bar to the left around 4:45pm. :)

Having now lined up a IIn a III and a IV with my IV I dont think its duff. Im just not loving this camera shake issue that I never had before with an 8mp. Canons solution is to up the shutter speed, but I dont see how Im going to get the motion blur I want at a higher shutter speed?

Make the bad photo go away! :(

OK, the photo is good. But this is where I am currently sitting, shackled to a desk, when I could be outside shooting pictures. Thanks for the reminder, mate. ;)
