UK ipad prices have been released HERE (external link) personally I don't think it's worth what they want for it.

I can honestly say that about every piece of Apple hardware i've ever seen hehe! :p

Pricey, and the data plans are extortionate. Still, they'll sell by the bucketload anyway.

Ahh it appears Adobe Premiere Elements is Windows only, therefore I am, it appears, without a software solution for 1080p on a mac, on a budget.

Why not run Windows in a VM for this? Could be a cheaper option. We use VMWare Fusion at work for situations when there is no Mac equivalent app.

Did you see how I avoided making any smart arse remarks about when it comes time to doing any real work, your aluminium etch-a-scketch is found wanting? I suprised myself :p:)

I've just had a quick look around and found Handbrake (external link) which is a open source (free), cross platform video transcoder.

I don't know anything about it, or how long it takes, but apparently it may be able to convert it 1080p to something usable.

Alternatively there is also M2TS Converter for Mac OS X (external link), only $35. There is a trial which allows you to convert 5 minutes worth of footage.

Good luck.

Kerching!! ;)

Not the clarion, that had a black cone. Saw a Calibra with 2 of the clarions sealed in the boot, they were crap.

I find it messing with my melon with the zebra crossing being straight and the statue leaning.

Quicky question. Are non-brand batteries much worse than canon ones? Considering buying spares for both the 40D and 400D, but don't really want to be dropping a ton on a pair of batteries.

I thought the same but it's the paving that falls away to the left making your eyes think that the war memorial is on the piss

That is correct. The road is on a slight uphill climb from left to right and the pavement kind of follows it. If you look at the plinth that the statue is on, it has actually been built to take the incline into account. The fact that the road also goes up and down as you look across it does not help either. I have to agree though that it does not look right even though (if you look at the plinth) it's not that far out.

Nice concept, but it is distracting that the statue is leaning. The kerb is straight but the plinth of the statue looks to have subsided slightly. If it were my photo I would probably straighten it up a tad.

edit: understand now you say it is on a hill :) Think I would still straighten it though.

I think that if the bottom is straightened then the top half and the wall at the back of the shot will be out so I'd leave it as it is.

Just tried it in photoshop and straightened just the statue leaving the road as it is and it works quite well.
