great work fella, I especially like the pigeon shot - I'm always impressed how those of you who do street stuff find the most incredible angles and compositions, turning the mundane into masterpieces!

Was at Regents park yesterday, there are about 6 pairs nesting on the boating pond, if you've got a long enough lens you'll get them, i recon a 300mm will do the trick

That's why I prefer a tablet PC, as natural as pen on paper and all the benefits over a mouse.

It is a bin liner, he was using it to protect the lens

@ Adrian ~ seems to be like most things for me that I will almost go on a whim. Hickstead was a free ticket someone gave us out of the local paper and the Scurry racing was IMO awesome, really photogrenic. The one you all like :D was if I recall quite a crop as I was using the 70-300 IS and yes I like it myself.

What did guys think of the indoors ones I posted here https://photography-on-the.net …?p=9747973&postcount=1108 ??? These were taken at the indoor arena at Merrist Wood College near Guildford, I had been keeping an eye on the events there and did a recce on Saturday when out shopping.

They have regular events of Show Jumping, Dressage and Ponies et al so I will be going again a few times over the next few months but think I need to hire the 85mm f2.0 or even the f1.8 (have I recalled that right) as it was very poor light and I have no wish to use flash even if they allow it and would like to get the shutter speed up above 1/100 for the showjumpers and dressage events.

I like horses though have not ridden in over 35years and I bet those Welsh Cobs were cute little characters :D

@ Courior ~ I like the runners images - (did a couple of events with Ian (ies) and that was a good experience), also the market ones though i have never done street togging

@ Ian ~ stunning head shot of that Heron, talk about fixed on his prey!

@ Victor & Matt ~ boy do you find some scenes to set up & spooky or what ;) If they were removing the scaffold how did you exit???

That was a great meal ~ you must have a good set of pans :p

Showjumpers at Hickstead 2008 ~ I think I had my 40D then and used the 70-100. The middle three I was up in the stand about 30ft plus off the ground i.e. many rows back. I think the 100-400 would have been very usefull for all of the subjects. I am sure I found AI Servo the dogs for all of these types of images including the Scurry racing.

Anyone up for doing something the Sunday after next? I need to give a shifty-looking brown box to Kay and it would be nice to do it under the cover of something respectable looking...
