Sitting here trying to think if I have anything "Book Worthy" to submit this year.... Probably not. :(

I have one thing so far and it's already been done. Sort of...

I said it when I replied to Robert's message, but I'll say it here also... Congratulations to you and Mari!!!

Because some of you have CS2 and can't use totally rad's dirty pictures for texture overlays, I have an alternative. I think this may even work for photoshop elements.

This is the easiest way to get a clean look with textures:

copy/paste your texture on to your photo.
change the opacity to approx 40-60% and choose hard light ("hard light" usually works best but you can use "overlay" or "multiply") Also be sure adjust the opacity to what you like the best. Do this first.

Then make a duplicate layer, click create clipping mask for the previous texture layer.

Change 2nd layer to: Normal 100% opacity

Click on fliter:blur:gaussian blur. Make opacity 11.1 pixels.

Add layer mask to 2nd texture layer.

Make sure cursor is on layer mask
Click "ctrl I" to invert the layer mask.

Then making sure your brush is white and still on layer mask, paint in the areas where you don't want texture.

This method will still keep the color of your texture but not marks. It's perfect for skin/faces/eyes wherever you don't want color.

actually here's a zip of a texture action (I just made it using these steps) for those with photoshop (won't work in elements...you'll have to go step by step)...should work in cs2. Make adjustments to the original texture layer (if you don't want hard light, change to overlay or multiply and adjust the opacity to how you like).

HUH?
Am I supposed to read every third word so I can understand?

Enjoyed Tony Bennett last night. It's not my taste in music, but you have to admire an 84-year old guy who appeals to such a diverse audience. There were lots of old fogies like us, but there was also a good representation of younger people, too. Considering he does very little except stand there and sing, his stage presence still is very compelling.

Everyone else: Hi!!

He didn't just luck onto his success, glad to hear he did a good job.

Hi!!

Wow, in 6th grade? That teacher really needs to get some perspective. I don't mind if they tell the kid they're wrong when they are, but there's no reason for name calling at any age. That stinks.

Chet....this is a story from the next school district over. Seems there is a whole lot more to the story than was shown in that little blurb....including the mother manipulating some things. The students and staff all spoke tonight in support of the teacher. There is an ongoing investigation, but so far it looks like the teacher may not have done anything wrong.

wow, two hyper dogs, a MUDDY yard from getting nearly 3 in of rain in the last 48 hrs and a beige carpet...oh man.

but no accidents or disasters while we were out and we were gone for several hours. We didn't crate K (who behaves) and Hale was fit to be tied but crating her worked.

do you guys ever go to costco and forget that your membership is up so you have a pile of groceries (never less than $100) and they say "oh, you can't buy these unless you renew your membership for (in our case) $100". I HATE it when I forget.:lol:

But it's so worth having the membership.

We went to Fred Meyer the other day to get some meat. Didn't want to go all the way over to costco. So...NY steak was $13.00/lb Sirloin was $11.99/lb. I was so shocked. We picked up some really nice looking NY's today at costco for $5.99lb. And we always spend enough there through the year to get the membership cost plus more back at Christmas time.

Since you can have 2 people on a membership I do one with my brother, so it is only 25 bux each. I love how our local store prints my photos, and they will print custom writing on the back. I buy most of my computer related stuff there too when they have decent sales, I've never bought much in terms of food, I have no storage for 6 boxes of rice and mostly we buy organic and Costco doesn't seem to have much of that, at least not around here. The membership is totally worth it for me even without buying food.
