After a day flying kites at the beach last weekend, Candi and I have decided to get a couple of stunt kites and take on an additional hobby which we can do together. Today we stopped by Delta Park in Portland and talked with a guy who designs kites and puts on workshops. We plan to get either 4 line revolution kites, pictured first, or the more traditional 2 line stunt kites... the pink one.

Years ago I worked with a guy that was into stunt kites. He used to fly them every chance he got. Somewhere along the line he filed a workman's comp claim against the company saying the drill motors and rivet guns gave him carpal tunnel syndrome, yet he was out flying his kites even when he supposedly couldn't work. I suspect if he actually had carpal tunnel it was caused by the kite flying and not working on aircraft...

Morning.

Lost some quotes.

Cat, I don't think you've lost your photography...I just think things are evolving for you. Sometimes I think we get ideas into our heads that "this is the direction" we're going but the higher up has another. I know that for me, things are changing...regardless of how I've planned it. Wonder what's on the horizon for us?

Zane, I'm sorry you're hurting. :( Have you ever tried neuromuscular therapy? Its kind of a combo between massage, reflexology and very, very gentle chiropractic movements. Its been really helpful to me in the past.

No, do I have to wear a leotard? That's a deal breaker there.

hahaha I wasn't quoting anything this morning...just reading, til this set. Then I lost control of my coffee and laughed myself awake.

G'MAE all, can someone tell me where I put the swim tote? I found my swimsuit but not my cover up and need to get it packed. Guess I'll keep searching and once I find it I'll try to get my stuff done, well after I start packing.

aww skip covering up. Break free and boogie in the sunshine!

Um . . . Wouldn't he be wearing a red jacket and Smokey hat in TR's Northern Counties?

The way he's described the story & it's locale, I was surprised he wasn't wearing a kilt.

Lovely. I think I missed something though. Who's tulip hating? *looks sternly around the room*

Lois had a lifetime membership to the Johnny Cash Fan Club, and we went to dozens of his live performances. If he was anywhere near the West Coast, we were there. I think Lois' fascination with him had absolutely nothing to do with his singing, but was more an interest in his personal life. We were able to meet him backstage a couple times, and he was always cordial. On the other hand, June Carter was positively gracious, and was the business mind of that organization.

John sure did have a unique voice.

I bet that was good fun, going backstage to meet those two...

It's another couple attempts at a reversed 50mm :)

Ugh. Please tell me why good things always backfire? :-S And, mucinex/sudafed are keeping me comfy. I'm just glad the kids don't have it.

There's some seriously pretty stuff being posted in here today! :) Yes Fafa, including your burning tulip. :)
