He won't eat if he's home alone. We have to bring the food with us into the house (we used to feed them in the garage). Then he'll eat a mouthful, come hang with us for a while, eat some more etc. He just loves to be with people so much that eating doesn't become an issue unless he's starving. He is very thin. Sometimes I worry that he's too thin. Doc says he's okay though. Even though you can see his ribs.Harly is misnamed at food time she should have been called Dyson as she simply hoovers up whatever is in the bowl. Neil - © NHR Photography

She does sit when it is being prepared. She then sits down and will not eat utill told that she can, and if you take her food away she simply sits down, wags her tail and looks at you with big eyes. But when she is in the act of eating, it simply does not touch her sides ![]() Zane I sort of agree with you, but I don't know what the answer is. The current system and legislation does not work, and I don't know what will. Sure you do We have two big issues here. No 1. Scumby Low Lifes who have no self esteem get their kudos by owning "Trophy Dogs" they use these poor animals to extend their own anti social behavior. No2. Perfectly respectable law abiding people think nothing of letting their dogs fowl the footpaths and public spaces and refuse to pick up the residue. My solution to problem No 1 is to allow the dogs to attack their owners, and to No 2 if the owners do not pick it up make them wear it home. We have the same issues here Do whats right HERE

I don't know if it's the same thing or not. But I was wondering what you thought about a dog owner "fit-ness" program? Here, people would just work around it. I DO think it's a good idea (wish it could be implemented) but it would never work here. I think dog licensing in the US is primarily a rabies control measure. I've never lived anywhere where having a current rabies vaccination wasn't a requirement for obtaining a dog license. It's of questionable effectiveness with the ever-increasing numbers of skunks, raccoons and bats that are found in urban areas today... Skrim17 wrote in post #9701282 There are large fines here for not cleaning up after your dog, the police will enforce it too if they see it. Here too... Permagrin wrote in post #9701331 speaking of dogs, I was looking up dog food. We're moving the dogs out of puppy food to help control Hale's weight (now that she's basically at her full growth). It's so weird reading the reviews. Almost all the advertized dog foods are 1 star. Including IAMS (and some other "vet recommended" dog foods). http://www.dogfoodanalysis.com/dog_food_reviews/ We feed Buddy Natural Balance dog food. We chose this for a couple of reasons. One, the company produces foods that are used by the zoo for their animals and second, the woman that runs the monkey sanctuary can get if for us at a reduced price... We feed him the canned, dry and the rolls. John

If he did eat it out of desperation, he barfed. Maybe he was allergic to something in it? .. It's Permie's world, we just live in it! ~CDS

The groomer said that too. I don't know if it's a genetic thing or what. But we're really trying to make sure they stay healthy. .. It's Permie's world, we just live in it! ~CDS

(the Kirkland chicken, rice & veggies or lamb rice and veggies) Where IAMS (Iams is talked up big here) is a 1 star. That just blows me a away. .. It's Permie's world, we just live in it! ~CDS
