Tif.....yellow flag this is for real...it's called a caution. Red flag and they stop.

I would love to come chill with you.

Thanks :)

Depends on the racing catagory....in the US with NASCAR & ovals, yes...but in other racing catagories...you blow a tyre (tire), tough crap, limp the car back to get a new set of wheels...

Every racing category has a wonderful set of rules and regulation - that people try to exploit to the max, you can basically race anything as long as it abides by the rules and regulations.

do you have good popcorn to go with the NON cartoon?

Thanks for the info :D We have this red river valley popcorn (external link) right now. mmmm

When a car has a flat tire, there is often pieces of debris that come off the car...at 200 mph that would make for a very dangerous situation for the other cars, so they wave a yellow flag which slows the field to a controlled speed and allows for safe clean up of the track. When the debris is clear, the green flag is put out and racing resumes.

The red flag is used in those situations where continuing to have the cars moving is simply too dangerous. When the red flag is out, the cars must stop and do nothing until such time as the track is restored to a safe condition. Often used when it rains. Slick tires on wet pavement is not a pretty combination.

As for the car being legal....I don't know of any form of racing beyond the cartoon world where that would be legal. All forms of racing have pretty clear cut rules and regulations.

Got any good non-cartoon? Most of my collection is animated.

That makes sense, thanks for the explanation. When does racing season start? I can't believe that they are going 200mph!

I've never seen a non cartoon racing movie, except the non cartoon version of Speed Racer, and that felt more like a drug trip than anything else

Hey Zane.

I'm bringing home a sister for Maggie tomorrow. Her official status right now is "foster sister." But we'll play it by ear once we meet.

Long story, but she's had a not-so-good life. She has spent most of her time in a crate. She's a 16 month old yellow lab. They have to get rid of her (thank goodness). If they couldn't find a home they were gonna put her down. :(

That is great Chris. Hope everything works out well for you and the girls.

Very pretty dog Zane. Love the jumping photos.

yeah. We're hoping it's just a very bad sinus infection pressing on my eyes causing the vision to be hazy. That's the very best option at the moment. Right now my world looks like a dog licked my glasses and I never cleaned the lenses.

I won't say I'm not a little scared.

Fingers crossed that the meds will take care of the problem Lisa and that you start to feel better soon.

I'm back. Thanks, Zane.

I've been to the mountain, and came back with a bunch of stone tablets---very heavy. Mainly, I've just been doing a lot of thinking.

Oh...the wedding was fun. It was an outdoor wedding on a golf course. The weather was perfect, and everything went off without a hitch. I ended up not being the best man. I was actually the second choice (story of my life), but the first choice was having terrible back problems. At the last minute, he felt well enough to do the job, and I was very happy to let him. He was pretty spaced out on pain-killers, but he made it through everything. I was only a groomsman, and the only non-cop in the bunch. Even the fellow who officiated at the ceremony was a police lieutenant. (also a Canon user, and now a member of POTN).

It was very enjoyable. I will try to get a photo of me in a tux. I look just like Danny Devito as the Penguin.:o:o

Glad you had a good time Chief. Welcome back

I guess I'll have to add clothes shopping with the wife to the list. I am often looking for a chaise lounge next to the dressing rooms whilst holding other bags maybe a purse.

Casablanca(1942) and His Girl Friday(1940) are two of my favorite movies of all time!!

Some would add It's a Wonderful Life(1946) and Citizen Kane(1941) etc to that list too!!

That would seem to solve the problem of 'where did the weekend go?' If you're having a good time, it's over before you know it, and you're back to teaching Spanish.

Watch auto races. It's like an extra day off.

I'm not short. I'm concentrated awesome!
