I'm way behind with no hope of catching up. Anyone want to give me a recap of the TPBM headlines from the last two days?

So far, I'm a Windows 7 fan. I installed it in a new virtual machine on my Mac yesterday, and it was easy. The only problem I had was trying to install the drivers for my uber expensive HP laser printer. I kept getting an error message to the effect, "You need Internet Explorer v. 5.0 or newer to install this software." Of coure, Windows 7 has IE 8 built into it. I probably spent a couple hourse trying to download drivers and install them, but it never seemed to get done. Finally, out of pure desperation, I just tried printing something without installing the drivers, and the printer worked perfectly. Apparently W7 did it all by itself on installation, and I had been going through unnecessary motions ever since.

The beauty of the virtual machine is that I still have my old Windows XP installation, complete with programs and files, and I can refer back to it should I ever need to. So now, I can start my Mac with OS X, then switch back and forth between that, XP, and Windows 7, all without re-booting. I couldn't do that on a PC.

I'm not short. I'm concentrated awesome!

HP has a really nice install wizard downloadable from their site. I've used their wizard since the old ME days. It's worked well in ME, W2K, XP and W7. I can hunt it up if you'd like

Apparently I don't need it now, but thanks. It might be good to have someday.

Not to start a pi$$ing contest, heavens knows we have too many of those already, but there are actually quite a few virtual machines that will run any OS, some for free and some for $$.

Calypso is found. phew. Apparently she went in a cupboard and MIL didn't notice. She found her this morning. (Kip doesn't meow when she's accidentally locked up...never has...dunno why)
