Shot these while walking through Bear Creek Park, Houston, Texas...

This is not a great shot, I was walking through the woods and nearly stepped on this, scared the ***** (insert word here) out of me!

As you can see, by the time I got my composure to take a shot, he was disappearing into the undergrowth. I though for a fraction of a millisecond about trying to make him come out, but thought better of it!

A bee of some sort??

Interesting shots. The bee seems a bit OOF. Seems like focal point is on hind leg. I know it's tough with these guys - they don't stand still for you.

Yes it is a little OOF. Really my first attempt at shooting these little guys. I have some others of the bee, but this was the only one where his head wasn't buried in something!
