My wife's cousin wanted me to take his senior pics this year. Never having done so before, I was quite unsure of how they'll turn out. Here they are. C&C welcome.

seems as the attention is being taken away from the subject by the scarf. i like the first one better. The second one is too off center and the background keeps taking my eyes off the subject. better luck next time.

I don't think the second one of too off center at all, better there then smack dab in the middle. Would have been better if you used a larger aperture lens. Your lighting seems good, a little flat but not bad. Not a fan of number 1 at all though. Bad background and the scarf does take away from it.

I prefer your second shot. A tighter crop would help. The grass and snow dosen't help the image. Also in the future watch their hands as the right hand is hiding under the scarf. The first image has some coloring issues regarding his skin. Keep shooting and keep posting :)

I agree with the scarf being far too distracting. And my eyes seem to go to the door behind him in #1. And similarly there is too much depth of field in these photos making the subject blend into the surroundings and background.
