I wonder if my source is full of it.

Someones eyes has seen the 70-200 f/2.8IS Mkii and the new 28-70IS. Yes 28mm not 24mm.

I call bull but he was quite serious.

I hope so. the 28 would fix the apparent vignetting issue, and IS would only sweeten the deal.

I hope it happens so I can pickup an "old" 24-70 for cheap :)

When the 24-105mm f/4L IS was introduced, photographers were dumping their 24-70mm f/2.8L lenses like hot potatoes. This caused a momentary dip in the used prices of the 24-70L. I got mine from a professional photographer for about $800 including shipping.

Probably not true.... You loose something to get something? Doesn't seem to make sense going from 28-70, 24-70, and then 28-70IS.

yeah... 28mm sound fishy. I don't ever see Canon going backwards in lens design.

For one the 70-200 mk2 is old news. I would have liked to have seen the 24-70 IS ir 28 for that mater but I doubt it. I been hearing that crap for a while now and I havent seen it yet. I dont think it is gonna happen for a long time. Please someone prove me wrong. :lol:

Yeah rumors are rumors until we get info from credible sources. This or that will be nice, but just get something nice now and get good shots until the new stuff comes.

per DPP update

Changes for Digital Photo Professional 3.8.1;
1. Supports Mac OS X 10.6
2. Supports additional model
The EOS Kiss X4 / EOS REBEL T2i / EOS 550D is now supported.
3. Adds a lens that supports the aberration correction function.
EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM is newly supported.
4. Adds a function for adjusting the angle of an image to the Trimming tool.

I know if anything, there is no announcement regarding this lens but they should have atleast mention "others" in this.
