That's soap suds from detergent, nothing to do with a famous chimp. Canon EOS- 1Ds mkII, 100mm macro, 580EZII, 430 EZII. All at ISO 50. Please C & C and as is customary, thank you for your time.

Looks like you did really good job with the lighting! I think I like 2 best, seeing the shapes of bubbles through other bubbles.

All three are very nice, but I like 3 the best, mainly due to the colour and 'dreamy' effect.

Three is nice for the reason you state, but I'd like to see those colors on a composition of 2.

As it is, #3 could be a shot of an iridescent football or something else other than what it is.

Just for fun:

First and second do it for me. I like the first the best.

I think the red color in the third makes it muddy and distracts from the cool structure of the soap bubbles.

Thank you to everyone for taking the time to view and leave comments, all the bubbles were hand blown using a straw from a drop of detergent in water. The no3 shot was blown from water that had red dye added hence the unusual appearance. Here's a couple of drinks shots using the same blow through straw technique with flash output at the lowest amount to freeze the action.

nice images....and creative....

too bad your title reminds me of an old joke by the comedian "The Amazing Jonathon"....
Q: Do you remember blowing bubbles when you were a kid?
A: Well he is back in town and is looking for your number....

hahaha...tasteless I know

Great pictures, but I was wondering why you chose ISO50? Why not just use 100 since the scene wasn't reaching the camera's overexposure limits?

He said the flash output was at the lowest setting (at least on his later post) and at least one of them was at f/32. No way to let less light in I guess, unless you overexpose & fix in post.

I'm intrigued with the last shot. It screams, "Burning fires of Hell" at me, but straws and bubbles? It's very powerful, but maybe that's something to do with my warped mind?

Looks like coke or pepsi with light shined through it. Sounds like burning fires of hell to me. :D :D :lol:

Thank you again for the comments and viewings. Jim despite my having no Scottish roots, I must confess to using supermarket own brand cola, (the type they only make when the water's dirty) which meant that I had to keep reminding myself to blow and not suck. I'm sure that there's a joke in there somewhere but it's way past my bedtime.

Ha! Personally, I never touch the supermarket brands, but I think you were right to blow!

Goodnight mate!
