Elements 3.0 - Process Multiple Files / Version Set Question

Hey all,

I'm new to the forums and will start with a question:

I shoot raw and use Elements 3.0, both for the organizer and editing. I use the Process Multiple Files feature on the first pass of new photographs. If I process a photograph manually and do a "Save As," I'm given options to "Include in the Organizer" and "Save in Version Set with Original"; yet, I see no option to do this in the setup menu for "Process Multiple Files."

Am I missing something?

Assuming not, is Process Multiple Files really editable like a plug-in or action? Does anyone know of a plug-in I could purchase that would solve the problem?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Jens

I can't help with PSE, but if you don't get a better answer, maybe you should try free RSE for conversion.
I usually only go into PS to crop, resize & do some final sharpening unless it's a complex shot. For the simple shots, RSE saves the conversion info so I can delete the big tiff file & save a lot of hard drive space in the long run.

Frank, Thanks for the tip. I tried RSE, and whilst it didn't help with my version set problem, it's great for fast conversion. The only issue I have is I'd like to automatically apply "best guess" processing and then tweak the ones I'm really interested in. Anyway, what I'll do for now is keep the RAW files in PSE3 for sake of cataloging (I happen to think it has a great organiser), and do the processing in RSE. - Jens

PSE 3's process mutiple files if rather limited. I don't even like how it sharpens images. It doesn't use a good methods and oversharpens them. I get a far better quick sharpen out of Irfanview.

Have you tried the "snapshot" button? Copy the settings, select the other images & apply the settings to them.
