I have since processed some wedding images from last Saturday, and I would be interested in some opinions as to whether this image treatment works. Any comments from the brilliant photographers on POTN appreciated, with thanks.

Instead of loving things and using people, why not use things and love people? :-)

a bit too much 'glow' on the 1st i think

hoping for maybe a tighter crop on #2 and a bit lower perspective? just my opinion :)

very nice overall

Thanks Scroller, I mucked around with #1 for ages, not sure about the final outcome but the smile/expressions are good. As for #2, it is already heavily cropped so I'm not sure how much more I can crop it. Thanks for the comments anyway.

No comments on the pp or techniques, but etiquette-wise, you shouldn't be shooting in the same direction while the main was shooting. You might have ruined one of this shots of the couple.

Point taken in most circumstances, but nah, he actually was relieved that I was taking some shots for him. I still let him do the posing but fired away in the background. That's one benefit of shooting with a FF & 70-200 combo - you can stand way back and still get some nice candids.

Well in #7 the groom is clearly looking in your direction while the bride is looking at the hired photographer. Really...I know it's fun to take pictures as a guest, but you obviously were detracting the attention of the subjects in at least one photo, and my guess is that wasn't the only time.

Regardless I do think those are some nice captures as a bystander, but the PP isn't to my taste so I won't critique it.

Sorry, I do appreciate your taking the time to comment, but you've missed the whole point of the post. The main photographer wasn't hired, he was a family friend roped into the task and was doing his best. He was very thankful that I showed up with some gear and actually asked me to pose the couple. I told him to keep doing so as I only wanted to assist.

I really only wanted comments on the PP, but in any case I do thank you for commenting.

IMO, the processing works well in the 4th one. Besides that I don't like it, but that's all based on my own opinion. I think it just depends from person to person.

I was just commenting on conversation that was already going on. I wasn't in on the previous thread since I see this is Part II, so I didn't know the background. I can see your point.

Do you offer both the special processed image and the orginal processed image to the client (or in this case your friend/family)? The reason why I ask is because I personally like the processing you have done but post processing is totally up to the eye of the beholder apparently. I will always offer both because have found that many people prefer just the image and all the post processing that is done on images by alot of photographers is not wanted by many clients. Regardless I think you did a really nice job on these images.

PP in my opinion... i don't like it. I'm not a fan of the glow. Brides seem to like it though.

Not sure if you've noticed or not but in the last 2 her bra is really showing. Can that be cloned out?
