I use rear autofocus on my 50 D with the (AF-ON) and (*) buttons reversed.

If I am following sports action in AI Servo, and accidentally hit the AF-ON button (which is now exposure lock) with my thumb, I cannot get exposure lock to release unless I wait 4 seconds or take a pic. If I'm following a subject and the light changes before the 4 sec, then I have an incorrect exposure. Seems like bad engineering but maybe I'm missing something. Any ideas?

I'll post this in sports also to see if anyone else has fat thumbs.

I am pretty sure you can just turn off exposure lock can't you?

I think so, but I was trying to leave it on so I could stay out of the menus when I do other types of shooting.

The 50D has manual, and two custom settings right? Just make one with it off and one with it on =)
