Oh fudge. Just got an email from Adorama - The cards are on back order and the part number is for lower speed 8GB SD cards.

*sigh*

---------------
Thank you for placing an order with Adorama.

We regret to inform you that the following item(s) is currently on backorder

from the manufacturer, and we are unable to ship immediately.

Item Number: ILXSD8GBPRX - LEXAR 8 GB PRO SD CARD 133X HIGH SPEED

Our experience has shown that most backorders are shipped out within 10-14
days.
We will update you immediately should there be a change.
Please accept our apology for this.

We hope to continue to serve you with all your photography needs.
---------------

Now I have to sort out how to cancel this.

^^ I got the same email.

I hope Adorama is not trying to pull a bait and switch here. My order confirmation clearly states that I ordered the 32GB 2 pack, and I have sent them an email pointing out the error in the followup "backorder" email. Backorder indeed!

I don't think this is a bait and switch - that's not Adorams's style. I think it's more of a web site screwup.

I just sent an email to cancel the order.

Yeah, probably a data entry error. Sent an email to cancel my order as well.

Just got a reply from Adorama that there was error with the pricing and SKU # and that an email will be sent out later today to clarify.

Shocker, wrong product or the wrong price. At least they can't blame Amazon this time.

As much as I needed a couple big fast cards I didn't even try this since I'm pretty much done with Adorama due to how often this happens. Oddly enough I haven't had this issue with B&H.

So, it's $199.95 for Lexar 16 GB Professional 300x UDMA Compact Flash Memory Card - Pack of 2 Cards (external link), about $30 off buying them singly.

Of course, a single 32GB is only $168.25 (external link), which itself seems much the better deal.

No reason to be sorry. Indeed you did try and I still say thanks for that.

Nothing ventured ...

I placed an order when I saw Todd's post. It sounded like a good deal, however I did not know how crazy a deal and unrealistic it was until I looked into more as I have no clue what cards go for these days. (Haven't needed to research it)

Not surprised they cancelled and don't really blame them for an honest mistake. It's the first time it's happened to me with them.

My opinion of them is unchanged and I'm still pretty happy with them as vendor. There is no reason why people should be uspet with them.

Thanks for the link Todd!
