Pardon my ignorance here, but I can't find or figure out how to pay for an item I see in our classified section.
I have a PayPal acct, but have bought only from stores, which make it easy.
Thanks

You just need the email address of the individual you want to pay. With that you can login to your paypal account, put their email address and payment info/amount in and hit pay.
You could also have them send you an invoice, which may make it easier for you.

The classified section is not "run" by the site here. You are dealing with an individual. So make sure you read some feedback on whoever your buying from to make sure you don't get screwed, because the site won't take responsibility.

Or so this is how I have always thought it was! haha

As mentioned, the classified section here is just that, a classified section. The onus is yours to research the seller and make sure that you feel comfortable with the deal. There is a thread here, where you can use the tool of "search this thread" for the username, and you will see all positive feedback that has been left for him/her. https://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=28608

If you feel comfortable from their feedback, email or PM them and proceed with the 1 on 1 transaction.

Thnks for the info. Is obviously simple enough. I thought it had to somehow go through this site, and was sweating ---trying to find the link.

Yes you can. Once you set up your paypal account you can add a credit card. Then when you are making the payment you have a choice of payment method, usually paypal balance/bank withdrawal/credit card.

That's the best thing you can do in all reality, it adds another layer of buyer protection.

+1!

Use the credit card option as much as possible. It protects you in so many ways. These days many sellers are asking the buyer to pay the 3% fee, but personally I usually tell the seller that I only use regular paypal and ask if they will cover the fees. If they say no then I'll offer to split them. If they say no to that, you can decide where you want to go from there. Also, if you use a rewards credit card you'll earn points (or cashback depending on the card) from that, too.
