New Think Tank Bags

New line of "old school" camera bags, called Retrospective with a ton of different sizes.

Finally a small bag to hold gripped/pro sided bodies mounted on the lens. They look a lot like Domke bags, only bigger! The lens bags look interesting too....

Wonder when they will start shipping these?

I was looking on their site and noticed they also have them in a canvas looking grey material which is pretty sweet. I hate that all camera bag manufacturers (99% of them) only offer their bags in black.

Dont get me wrong, I like black, but having the option to nothave it look like a camera bag is so much better

I am personally very excited about these bags for a few reasons. 1. No a lick of branding on the exterior. It looks like one of those nice Gap messenger bags before Gap started cutting their quality. 2. The padding on the strap seems as though it is not fixed in position.

I think I'll be getting the Retrospective 20, that taller version so I can fit the 70-200 on the camera and in the bag.

I got to check out these bags at PMA, they are quite comfortable, though the ones with just pockets are for lens changing, I can definitely see the use of it.

My only concern was when looking at the Retrospective 30 (with the front pockets) they show a body pictured in there, but I'm doubtful that it would fit comfortably... (I'm referring of course to the front bucket pockets. But I would LOVE to be wrong about that. They definitely were nice bags. The fit and finish was super high quality, just like all their products.

It was funny actually, when I walked up to their booth, Kurt Rogers made a comment about my Domke F-2 that I had on me, we got to talking about their new bag and how its design is much like that of the Domke bags but to their high standards.

I was definitely impressed as usual, I would have liked to have loaded it up with the gear I had on me at the time however....


The "pinestone" color looks pretty nice in person, though I still like the black

When I talked with Kurt Rogers and Doug Murdoch (two of the founders) at PMA they said that the bags would be rolling out real soon (in the next month or two or less) They also had that HUGE new roller there as well, the Logistics Manager. You could fit a small person in there!

Yeah that thing is no joke! It is positively enormous. I would imagine I could fit all of my equipment including lighting gear inside of this thing.

Using their evident definition of "fits", which is looser than even mine, an F-803 could hold as much as their Retrospective 30. I caution people when I suggest an F802 or F803 that it'll bulge if you try inserting a gripped body mounted to a lens, just like theirs does.

wow, these look awesome. I JUST bought a UD30 which I love... I've had some of their smaller accessory bags for a long time and have always loved their quality. Now I'll be thinking about one of these and possibly the change up.

I'm thinking is the way to go to store everything in one location and have the ability to either load other bags out of it, or just roll it into the trunk and carry everything with you when heading out
