I'm thinking is the way to go to store everything in one location and have the ability to either load other bags out of it, or just roll it into the trunk and carry everything with you when heading out

wouldn't you rather have a pelican for that though? I'm just thinking at that point, the extra weight would be worth it for the protection, especially considering it's got wheels?

I won't tell Andrea you said that. :{)#

Using their evident definition of "fits", which is looser than even mine, an F-803 could hold as much as their Retrospective 30. I caution people when I suggest an F802 or F803 that it'll bulge if you try inserting a gripped body mounted to a lens, just like theirs does.

LOL, I hope so actually, so that the Domke's can be improved :)

I think TT has taken the Domke concept and made it better. All things being equal, here's what I prefer about the TTs:

- No tacky "DOMKE"-like label evident.

- The fit and finish is better, I'm guessing, like the rest of their range (IMHO, TT makes the best finished bags around: No loose strings etc).

- Noiseless velcro option: This is awesome for shoots in quiet places (As a work-around, I and most people I know just can't deal with the Domke hooks in a hurry. I only know of a few people who can deal with the hooks).

- Comes with padded, yet slim inserts that don't eat into interior space too much.

I like Domke's (I have 8 of them). However, they are stuck in a time warp, due to a loyal fanbase, and make little effort to improve on their original design concepts. Cheers.

Well anybody who has that much gear can surely afford that no problem.

I'm really liking the Retrospective 10/20!!!

But the price is quite steep when I consider how much I'd use it.

I really like the vertical orientation of the 20, so now I'm leaning between the UD 35 and the Retrospective 20.

It doesn't look like the Retrospective has a laptop compartment.

I am most curious to see what the top looks like under the flap, whether it is a centerline zipper like the UD bags, or if it opens wider to allow easier access to the interior with your camera/lens. :D

From the pictures the lighter color looks pretty nice.

But the UD35 can only carry a 13" laptop... and that's if you are carrying a gripless body. In case you carry a pro-sized body that compartment is restricted to 10" laptops only.

OK - I see the other pics on the TT web site and the top is wide open, not a centerline zipper.

Yeah, the Pelican would be nice for the complete waterproofness, but I really love ThinkTank's stuff and a comparable Pelican sized case would be friggin heavy

yeah, I just picked up my UD30 2 weeks ago and now they bring this 20 out... The zipper of the UD series makes me think I'll stick with it, but now I want both. Damn them!

you say that like it's a bad thing? I HATE how almost every bag these days has that wasted space. Sure SOMETIMES I might need a laptop with me, but EVERY TIME I go shooting? It's so hard for those of us who don't bring them (or even own one in my case) to find good bags these days...

I am most curious to see what the top looks like under the flap, whether it is a centerline zipper like the UD bags, or if it opens wider to allow easier access to the interior with your camera/lens. :D

I know you've already seen it, but yeah, it's just a flap. For regular shooting I LOVE that. But for just carrying things if the weather gets nasty (or skiing with it in my case) I like the zippers of the UD series.

My bigass pelican case I used to have (before it got hijacked) didn't have wheels. I either had to lug it or find a cart to put it on. I carried my 4x5 and medium format kits in there. It was hefty!

I like the small 20 series bag myself, but personally I'm partial to more horizontal bags vs vertical. I find they stay by my side better.
