Everyone wants to be famous, but they don't want their photo taken.

Just think of the extra free publicity the Pappas got them. It was on quite a few news channels.

There must be a limit to what type of force can be used though. For example, you can grab someone by the arm and escort them out, but putting them in a headlock and dragging them out on their back will land you jail time. I'd find it hard to believe that there aren't laws governing excessive force over in Australia.

Reasonable force is the area of law. If someone does not respond to being taken by the arm you are allowed to escalate the level of force employed.

I have had to do exactly this to remove people from my work a number of times, as I don't have the luxury of a dedicated security guard.

EDIT: Though in this case as they were on public land, the security had no right to do anything. The police could perhaps tell them to move off the pathway.

A smart securityguard would have just stuck his head in all the pap's shots and pissed them off enough to leave.

That wasnt a choke, for big tough guys those paparazzis really act like little girls when someone get rough with them.

I really hate paparazzi and the things they do to constantly be in the face of celebrities. let them enjoy a wedding in peace as you'd hope others would do for you.

OK... Try keeping off a 6'5, 260lb gorilla who is choking you with one hand and protecting $8000 dollars worth of equipment (1DMark3 + 400mm ) in the other while he is taking you to the ground. :p Did I mention you also have a 25lb backpack on?

This day in age, most paparrazi know the where they can and can not shoot. It's not like they were hiding out in the bushes. We all love to hate them, but until the laws are changed in the US, try and stop them when they are within their god given right..lol

If people wouldn't "buy" what Paparazzis "produce", there would be no Paps at all. So, if so many people hate them, why are they still around?

I'm gonna go against the grain here and side with the paps. Not cause I like paps, but I hate security guards. Private security is crap, they don't know anything about the law or rights. If you read the follow up articles, no one is even willing to take ownership for hiring those thugs.

And those study "Bachelor" jerks like the attention. Why else do you need a freaken TV show to get married? Scum, period.

25lb backpack, thats it? you guys need to go work out some more and stop complaining about the weight of equipment

i personally wouldnt find myself with that much equipment in that situation, specially to go shoot 2 people whos 15 minutes of fame ran out 10 weeks ago

you can clearly see the guy wasnt worried about his equipment, he was worried about taking a picture of the guy who is kicking him out, so dont try to play that card with me because im calling it as i see it, the paparazzi was an a$$, hands down

and if somebody where to try to "choke" me, i would kick his butt from here to the next town and when the cops come i'll call it self defense since he "initiated"

wah wah wah, a guy with a camera got pushed around...we always end up defending every guy with a camera in his hand...botom line, the guard asked him to move, fine, leave and come back in 5 minutes, problem solved
