I loved the ending with the old lady coming from near where on the trail saying it was public access!

Then they said it was public but you had to keep walking and not stop. Thank goodness for high ISOs and fast shutter speeds.

The papparazi here might be wrong or might be right , that is immaterial for me as soon as there was Violence. It is the last resort of weak people.

I'm gonna go against the grain here and side with the paps. Not cause I like paps, but I hate security guards. Private security is crap, they don't know anything about the law or rights. If you read the follow up articles, no one is even willing to take ownership for hiring those thugs.

And those study "Bachelor" jerks like the attention. Why else do you need a freaken TV show to get married? Scum, period.

I think you're going with the grain actually. :)

and if somebody where to try to "choke" me, i would kick his butt from here to the next town and when the cops come i'll call it self defense since he "initiated"

wah wah wah, a guy with a camera got pushed around...we always end up defending every guy with a camera in his hand...botom line, the guard asked him to move, fine, leave and come back in 5 minutes, problem solved

Yes, but then you might get in trouble with the law, not to mention that the paps were outnumbered by security guards, you saw the cops sided with the goons here, imagine what would have happened to the guys if they had retaliated.
Seeing the footage, I was thinking how much I would have loved kicking that grease sack in the head, but the paparazzi did the intelligent thing. And of course its normal to complain and whine when you are treated so unfairly by gorillas and by that corrupt police force.

i agree with you 100 percent, should have never escalated to a physical confrontation, no one has the right to beat on anyone else....

like i said, walk away, come back in 5 minutes, its public land they can’t tell you not to walk by or how fast, you just have to be smarter

if the cops come they can’t do anything because they are "walking" on the trail

If you're going to pimp your pre-marriage escapades on reality TV, then there shouldn't even be any security guards to keep the paparazzi out. Kinda like picking a fight and then wanting to call it off when you start losing. For some reason, I don't feel sorry for any of the participants - maybe they all ought to be locked up for insulting intelligence.

As a matter of fact our laws may be even tougher than yours in this respect....
The use of force here in OZ is not looked upon favorably by the courts at all....

Thalagyrt wrote in post #9725358 (external link)
There must be a limit to what type of force can be used though. For example, you can grab someone by the arm and escort them out, but putting them in a headlock and dragging them out on their back will land you jail time. I'd find it hard to believe that there aren't laws governing excessive force over in Australia.

I am not big on Paparazi style stuff and i don,t but the magazines that sell it but my personal opinion aside the Paparazi should have called the police in as they were within their rights and in a public domain.....

Really? I've never had any trouble with Police/court when I've been forced to use force. I've been told I did a good job by a copper once, the rest of the time it's been a non issue.

If people wouldn't "buy" what Paparazzis "produce", there would be no Paps at all. So, if so many people hate them, why are they still around?

People *say* all kinds of stuff. People also say they hate the way things are being run, but they keep re-electing the same people over and over. McDonalds tried relatively healthy burgers because people said they wanted them... then didn't buy them. The list of examples is endless.

I applaud the security guards. Those paparazi were being mouty and refusing to leave. Just because someone holds an expensive camera does not give them the right to tresspass.

They were refusing to leave because they had the right to be there.
So if a security guard from that hotel comes here and tells you you cant post here anymore, would you stop?
And if you continue posting, and then the guard waits for you outside your house and puts you in gridlock, would you be ok with that?

OK... Try keeping off a 6'5, 260lb gorilla who is choking you with one hand and protecting $8000 dollars worth of equipment (1DMark3 + 400mm ) in the other while he is taking you to the ground. :p Did I mention you also have a 25lb backpack on?

This day in age, most paparrazi know the where they can and can not shoot. It's not like they were hiding out in the bushes. We all love to hate them, but until the laws are changed in the US, try and stop them when they are within their god given right..lol

Of everything that I have read and seen in here this comment struck me the funniest.
Have you ever shot with a 1 series?
YOu do not need to cradle it, with an L on the end it is one hell of a wuppin stick. the guard would have been hurt far worse than the 1D with a 400:D

I never, Not once claimed to read your post...
